Technical study visits on the 6th of October 2022 – Limited number of participants!

The study visits are arranged by the conference partner Cleantech Östergötland.

All study visits start at the conference venue Linköping Concert & Congress Hall where you meet at lite listed starting time for joint transport by bus. After the study visit, you will return to Linköping Concert & Congress Hall at the listed ending time.

You register to the study visits when you register for the conference – don’t wait, the study visits have limited number of participants!

Study visit 1: Study visit to the optical sorting facility for food waste and the Biogas plant at Tekniska verken

Visit Tekniska verken and get an introduction to the regional energy system with a focus on the development of biogas production. The visit will include a stop at the optical sorting facility where food waste is separated from residual waste by using a green bag. After that the visit will continue to the co-digestion plant where biofertilizer and biogas are produced and upgraded to vehicle fuel. As a last part of the “tour” we will visit one of the city´s main filling stations for compressed biogas (CBG) and liquified biogas (LBG).

Time: 9.30 to 15.30

Study visit 2: Study visit to Norrköping where secondary flows are the primary resource. The industrial symbiosis park: Händelö Eco Industrial Park (HEIP) followed by a visit to Econova

Händelö Eco Industrial Park (HEIP) is based on the concept of exploiting synergies between energy companies and the processing industry. There is a cluster of industries here that use each other’s by-products and residual products as raw materials. You will meet representatives from the companies, explaining the collaboration in the park, plans for future expansion and a guided tour of the facilities.

Econova is the Nordic region’s leading company in soil and garden products, led by the Weibulls brand. The company focuses on increasing its share of recycled and circular raw materials in its soil production. Norrköping produces both construction soil and bagged consumer soil. Different residual flows from biochar, horticulture, forest industry and biogas production are examples of circular raw materials used in the production of different soils. The study visit will include a guided tour of the facility as well as a company presentation on the strategy of valorising residual flows.

Time: 9.00-16.00

Study visit 3: Study visit to Vreta Kluster – The arena of development for the green industry

Visit Vreta Kluster to hear about innovation and collaboration within the green industry. The focus of the visit will be on valorization of digestate and sludge with the development of new products. You will meet innovators, companies and visit the farm Högåsa, all with a joint focus on closing the loop of the biogas system and making it fully circular.

Study visit 4: Visit Mjölby and learn more about industrial usage of LBG at Toyota Material Handling and LBG for heavy transport with Svensk Biogas at their fuelling station

Toyota Material Handling Manufacturing Sweden (TMHMS) is one of the largest warehouse truck manufacturing facilities in the world. Since August 2019, TMHMS has been recognized as a carbon-free factory, emitting zero CO2 and using only green electricity, district heating and liquified biogas (LBG).

You will get a guided tour of the facility to see the use of LBG (replacing LPG) in production, as well as using LBG in other areas e.g in transportation. You will also visit the nereby LBG-fuelling station for heavy transport and meet representatives from Svensk Biogas.
