FLIGHTS

More than twenty airlines will offer international flights to and from Keflavik International Airport in 2026.

Iceland’s international airport, Keflavik Airport, is located approximately 40-45 minutes from Reykjavik.

Arrivals
Flybus operates a direct service from Keflavik Airport to Reykjavik, which is timed to connect with all incoming international flights. Tickets can be purchased at the Flybus booth inside the terminal, on board on Icelandair flights and online. The bus brings passengers to the Flybus terminal at the BSÍ Bus Station in Reykjavik, which is centrally located and easily accessible.

Departures
Flybus also operates throughout the day for all outgoing flights, with scheduled departures from the BSÍ Bus Station. For passengers with a Flybus Plus ticket, pick-up service is available from selected hotels and guest houses in Reykjavik.

Taxi Service
Taxis are also available between Keflavik Airport and Reykjavik, with a typical fare of around 130- 160 Euros during daytime hours.

Car Rentals

It is also possible to rent a car at Keflavik Airport, allowing you to explore the breathtaking landscapes of Iceland at your own pace. With long daylight hours and mild weather, this is an ideal time to discover the country’s stunning natural beauty, including waterfalls, volcanic landscapes, and picturesque coastal roads. Renting a car gives you the flexibility to visit iconic sights and hidden gems at your own pace.

Getting around Reykjavík

Walking: Reykjavik is highly walkable, making exploration easy.

Electric scooters: Electric scooters from companies like Hopp (https://hopp.bike/) and Zolo (https://en.zoloiceland.is/) are widely available throughout central Reykjavik. If you plan to use these, it’s advisable to bring a bike helmet, follow traffic rules, and prioritize safety for yourself and others.

Taxi service: Hopp also provides taxi services bookable via their app, while Hreyfill is a well-known taxi operator (+354-588-5522). Keep in mind that taxi fares are significantly higher than in many other countries.

What to Do in Reykjavik
